Recap of 2014 Events
In 2014, the firm's work and sources of inspiration were shared with audiences well beyond the National Capital Region, in Toronto, Guelph and London.
John Szczepaniak was one of the speakers featured at a lecture in Ontario's Landscape Contractor Series in Toronto, one crisp February evening. Despite the frigid temperatures, over 135 enthusiasts attended the event.
Later, on March 19, John lectured to the Students of Landscape Design at Fanshawe College in London. The following day he was one of the presenters in the School of Landscape Architecture Lecture Series at the University of Guelph. As John is a graduate of this university's BLA program ('82), his lecture was especially well received by the students and professors there.
Then in July, on a gloriously warm and sunny day in the Nation's Capital, John led an afternoon tour for fellow design professionals of some of the firm's recent showpiece creations, with the generous support of the contractors and suppliers the firm regularly works with. The highlight of the tour was a visit to one of the projects featured as a case study in the latest book by renowned American landscape designer and writer Julie Moir Messervy, Landscaping Ideas that Work, published by Taunton Press in 2013. Overall, 2014 was an exciting year as recognition of our work spread into the greater North-American market.
Events 2015
We look forward to articles slated to appear in the spring 2015 issues of the magazines Ottawa at Home and Contractor Advantage. Watch for some stunning images to remind us that spring is on its way following one of the harshest winters on record for much of Ontario.
Lectures slated for 2015 are still in the works and details will be posted as soon as they are available.
The firm's commitment to public education, community involvement and charitable causes will also continue in 2015.
